It has been found that in the last few days the British Airways, in an unusual way, canceled a large number of flights at its new terminal at Heathrow Airport and as an alternative looked for Milan, Italy, for the sake of returning misplaced luggage to its customers. This development was recognized by the British Airways whose spokeswoman said on condition of anonymity in keeping with company policy, "We want to get bags quicker to customers and if it's quicker to send them to Milan or by Fed Ex we will use it." The same person also confirmed that of the accumulated huge number of misplaced bags 10 percent was destined for European cities. For that reason it was being sent to a processing center in Milan to be sorted and returned to their owners, while some for domestic destinations were sent to other airports across Britain. The spokeswoman also confirmed of the cancellation of 50 flights but was unable to say when passengers would be reunited with their luggage, predicting only that it would be "over the next few weeks."
Now whatever it is, it is certainly an unsatisfactory event for a company like the British Airways. Why is it so? It is due to the fact the British Airways is the UK's largest international scheduled airline, flying to over 550 destinations at convenient times, to the best located airports. Besides the British Airways group is comprised of British Airways Plc and a number of subsidiary companies including in particular British Airways Holidays Limited. Other than this there is also another aspect that has earned the acclamation of the world. Whether customers are in the air or on the ground, British Airways takes pride in providing a full service experience.
The entire crisis raised its ugly head when British Airways opened its gleaming new Terminal 5 crowd of angry passengers saw flights canceled or severely delayed, leaving many to camp at the airport overnight. When flights did take off, passengers often were forced to leave their baggage behind because of problems with check-in equipment.
